Scoop's Best Publications About Comics For 2005
The Main Event, Scoop, Friday, December 30, 2005
Again, here's a category from which
we've excluded ourselves. Mickey and the Gang - Classic Stories in
Verse, The Official Price Guide To Disney Collectibles, and The
Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide would all, in our humble
opinion, be instant entries. This year we broadened this category
slightly to included documentary film and video products.

'Wizard: How To Draw' Selling Through Well
Direct Only (for Now)
April 18, 2005
Wizard is reporting that its Wizard: How
to Draw trade paperback, released last month, is selling well in the
core market, where it's been released before being distributed to
bookstores. According to Wizard Director of Sales Stewart Morales,
direct market reorders are already at 43% of initial orders, and
Diamond is working hard to keep the book in stock. No date for
bookstore distribution has been set.
Although there is plenty of inventory
on the title now, Wizard expects to have to go back to press before the
holidays. Additional volumes are also planned.
