This is the listing for "George Perez's Sirens #1". Speaking as a
collector, can't say that I'm thrilled at so many variant covers...
especially because those incentive covers are really expensive if you
are not a dealer.

WHY WE LOVE IT: The name George Pérez should say it
all, but we are beyond excited to work with one of comics’ living
masters on his own original title. He’s worked on great female
characters like Wonder Woman and Scarlet Witch, but this, a team of
female heroes of his own creation, had us hooked.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT: It’s a sci-fi adventure story that
spans time and space, featuring a team of female heroes that kick butt
across the universe. If you like strong female sci-fi characters like Battlestar Galactica’s Starbuck, Star Wars’ Princess Leia, and Alien’s Ripley, you’ll find nine reasons to love GEORGE PÉREZ’S SIRENS!
WHAT IT’S ABOUT: As an intergalactic force enslaves
planets across the galaxy, the legendary team known only as the Sirens
must reunite to save it—but is that even possible when the Sirens
themselves don’t even remember who they are? And the rest of the
universe only remembers them as…villains? A six-issue, bi-monthly
miniseries featuring your new favorite comic book team, written and
drawn by the master himself, George Pérez ( Wonder Woman, JLA Vs. Avengers) begins his greatest story yet.
Scroll down for all six covers, and then many more solicitations!

An Addendum to the She-Devils Casting Call

SHE-DEVILS #1 (2014)
Boom! Studios
AN ADDENDUM TO MY CASTING CALL
I've been getting a wonderfully large number of volunteers and so many
have already sent your photos, and for that I am grateful. There are a
few specific types I'm still looking for, though and, while I can just
simply create the faces, I'd still like to get a chance to use as many
live models as I can, even for parts that may not be all that glamorous
or even likable.
Now, at the
risk of spoiling the story for anyone--although these requests will no
doubt elicit more confusion than clarification--I currently have need of
a couple of Japanese Samurais, young Japanese geishas.
I'm
also looking for an African-American woman over 30 for a small part
similar to the role Viola Davis played in THE HELP. I'm also looking for
a black male to be in a one or two panel scene with her.
These
last two roles may be the toughest roles to fill due to the sensitive
nature. I can understand a modern black woman being adverse to
portraying a maid and for a black man to be portrayed in a similar
function. However, the roles are not going to be negative or
condescending portrayals--just going for some historical context in the
storyline which has a scene in the 50s era South..
Of course,
some of you are being cast in rather unsavory roles-- many at your own
request, so maybe I'm being a little over-cautious in the name of
political correctness, but I just needed to make myself clear that all
this is being done for entertainment and the desire to involve my fans
in some of that enjoyment, if they want to. The parts mentioned are
little more than cameos and could easily be filled by fictional faces,
but I will leave that totally up to all of you. No offense meant and
none will be taken.
As with all the other casting, the deadline
for photos is January 31st, by which time I will have to use whomever I
have in my list for the first SHE-DEVILS story arc. Thanks for your
attention, consideration and understanding

Casting Call for George Perez's She-Devils
posted Dec 30, 2013, 2:12 PM by Vu Nguyen
SHE-DEVILS #1 (2014)
Boom! Studios
WHO WANTS TO BE A COMIC BOOK CHARACTER?
CASTING CALL FOR GEORGE PEREZ’S SHE-DEVILS!
Hey there, everybody! As many of you know I am currently working on a
creator-owned series for BOOM! Studios called SHE-DEVILS. After many
months of setbacks due to my medical issues and the time it took to
develop the first story arc, I am finally ready to begin penciling.
As some of you may also know, as in my previous short-lived
creator-owned project CRIMSON PLAGUE, my desire is to populate this
series with as many friends and fans as the story will allow. While I
have already cast my lead characters and several other parts, there is
still a need for many more roles to be filled and, thus, this open
“casting call”.
I am looking for characters, male and female, of all shapes, sizes,
ethnicity and age. Some parts will be fairly significant; others will be
little more than cameos. Some may have their real names used (if
agreeable); others may be playing characters that by plot necessity will
have fictional names. Most will be portraying humans; some may be the
basic models for aliens. Some will be heroic; some will be among the
vilest of villains. Some will live; some won’t be so lucky.
And, of course, everyone will be drawn by me. It’s my way of letting my
fans in on the fun, and I am particularly hopeful that this will
inspire the cosplayers among you to dress up as your character at
upcoming conventions. The idea of a big photo shoot with as many live
SHE-DEVILS characters gathered together really excites me and watching
fans and friends being asked to autograph copies of the books they
appear in is my way of sharing a bit of the celebrity spotlight that
I’ve been privileged to enjoy for four decades.
So, for those of you who may be interested, and even for those whom I
have already approached, here’s what I will need from each of you.
Photos. Plenty, plenty of photos. Especially headshots, like animation
character sheets, wherein you provide as many expressions, moods and
angles as you can manage. Face forward, profile, three-quarter shots,
looking left, right, up and down, even looking to the rear. Happy, sad,
angry, worried, confused, surprised, playful, passive, assertive.
Smiling, frowning, sneering, screaming, gritted teeth, pursed lips,
whistling, grimacing. I think you get the idea. Every emotional and
dramatic expression you can think of.
I know this may be asking a lot, but I really do want to have as big a
library as possible so that every drawing of each respective character
bears at least some resemblance to the model An acceptable alternative
would be video for those who have done some action stuff in that format.
And for those who have their own websites with suitable photos, a link
would also be perfectly acceptable.
Now, please understand that, however many responses I get, there is no
guarantee that I will be able to use everyone, or even a majority of
those who wish to be part of this. However, if the first story arc is
successful, I will need characters for a follow-up, so don’t fret that
you’ll be totally left out.
Also, this is not a paying gig. The only compensation for any of you is
the hopeful thrill of seeing yourself as part of a comic book drawn
with as much tender loving care as I can manage.
So, if any of this does interest you, please send links to photos,
vidcaps, videos or websites to my email at gpzpacesetter[a]mac.com.
For those who wish to send photos or videos by regular mail, please
contact me by e-mail requesting my mailing address (I may open a PO Box
specifically for this). You can also send me messages through my
Facebook pages but please understand that sometimes messages get lost
among the many others I receive here.
So, that’s my spiel. To coin an old, but now appropriate, phrase, see you in the funny papers!

She-Devils is the new George Perez series for BOOM! Studios

SHE-DEVILS #1 (2014)
Boom! Studios

Okay! It's now official!
The title of my new series for BOOM! Studios is SHE-DEVILS (taking the
title from a one-shot fan comic I did just as I was turning pro in
1974.) This is the first promo art spotlighting the nine lead
characters. Just as I did with CRIMSON PLAGUE years ago, I'm using real
people as my models and inspiration.
Beyond the characters shown here, I've already enlisted a good number
of friends, fans and members of my extended family to appear as
characters in this series and will likely be needing to ask for more,
especially those in the cosplay community. I'm imagining a big
SHE-DEVILS photo shoot some time in the future with everybody playing
his or her own comic book alter ego!
Pictured here are:
Top Row: Bombshell (Meg Taylor), Ammo (Camille Elizabeth Bishop) Barrage (Miracole Burns)
Center Row, Agony (April Hunter) Highness (Margie Vizcarra Cox),Figurine (Chan Graves), Kaje (Akira Lane)
Bottom center: Fanisha (Phoenicia Flynn), Backround Interface (Sherita Dunbar)
I am definitely in the market for more cast members, so if you're
interested and I haven't spoken to yet (or even if I did), please feel
free to send me a private message. Please note that, while I would love
to use everyone who wants to be in this series, there's no way I can fit
everyone, so please don't take it personally if I don't use you.
This should be FUN!!
