I was talking about my George Perez homage pin up that appeared in Actionverse featuring The Stray #6 recently, so I thought I'd repost it here. The comic itself had a couple different covers. The one I got for my copy was the Mitch Ballard cover because it featured a homage to another George Perez Teen Titans cover. Seemed appropriate.

Two popular Batman storylines are set to be reprinted in the “Batman:
A Death in the Family” hardcover, to be released in September.
In “Batman” 426-429, the original ”Death in the
Family” storyline sees the second Robin, Jason Todd, going to Ethiopia
in search of his birth mother. He’s captured by the Joker, beaten and
left in an exploding warehouse. Fans were given the option to dial one
of two 1-900 numbers: One number was to vote for Robin to live; the
other was to vote for him to die. Written by Jim Starlin and drawn by
Jim Aparo, the story was a huge hit, though it comes off as somewhat
dated today.
Following the events of “Death in the Family,” DC Comics determined
that Batman needed a new partner. With Marv Wolfman and George Perez
co-plotting, “A Lonely Place of Dying” introduced Tim Drake, a young man
who had deduced Bruce Wayne’s identity and determined that he needed a
Robin to aid him. The story, which also re-explored Dick Grayson’s
origins, was originally printed in Batman #440-442 and The New Titans 60-61, and was named best story 1989 Comics Buyers Guide fan awards.
