Did you know that DC fired Jerry Siegel, because he wanted the copyright to Superman? DC later removed his name/credit from The Spectre (leaving only Bernard Baily as sole creator or artist) from later reprints - via cbr.com
DC would eventually acknowledge Siegel's credit and contribution.
