    • R.I.P. William Vance (XIII) Vu: I've just learned that Belgium artist William Vance has died on May 14, 2018, suffering from Parkinson's disease. He was 82. Vance was known for co-creating XIII (13), a sort of French/Belgium version of the Bourne Identity, in 1984. The XIII follows the story of an amnesiac protagonist who is trying to learn his true identity. XIII was adapted to a first-person shooter by Ubi Soft Paris in 2003, and also adapted for television in 2008, and followed by two series... with each series having, what else?, 13 episodes. Rest in peace, William Vance. Artists who died in 2018: 6 May (1) [14 May 2018] William Vance (Belgian comics artist for XIII, Bob Morane ...

Last night, when I got back home from FanX (see below) I was stunned to find waiting for me a box filled with the very first collection of my Vigilante stories from the 1980s. And even more stunned to discover the official name of the collection was "Vigilante By Marv Wolfman." Yes, I knew they were doing a collection - I did write the foreword - but I had no idea about the name-included title. Thanks, everyone. But I was especially thrilled to see that all the artists who made those stories come to life were also given cover credit. You guys are the best.

Back in the 80s I wanted to do something very different with Vigilante, and I'm overjoyed the stories are finally being collected. I know Vigilante's appearances on the ArrowTV show brought him back to the forefront, but since I was so pleased with the stories I'm really happy they're back for new fans to read.

Since I just got my author's box of books, I'm assuming the book will be on sale this coming Wednesday. Please pick it up so volume's 2 through whatever can also be published, but also read my intro as it explains exactly how I came up with the character.

    I hope you enjoy it.
