AFTA #1 (Ascension from the Ashes - only fanzine for and by Dead People)

A very funny High Concept zine (I think McSweeney's swiped the idea from this guy).

    Features:
Cover by George Perez, An interview with George Perez, Sexism and Red Sonja, X-Men index (with reprint info), Comic reviews, a page about Beavers laying eggs in trees (no lie - its on page 38), Monty Python News, science fiction news, an article on Fandom, reviews of zines, A strip featuring Yellowjacket blasting pubic lice ("crabs") off the Wasp, an article on Fernwood 2 Night, movie reviews & news, and various bits and pieces of high lunancy.

Features some photos of Wendy Pini as Red Sonja (which she looks pretty good as by the way). Apparently it had a raisin taped inside when distributed. From the legendary Bill Dale Marcinko.
