For George Perez or Teen Titans fans hoping to get an original print run
of PACESETTER #4 (Jul 2004), you may want to turn to the secondary
market via Ebay. But that's flaky. This is a true story of how Yahoo
Auction (defunct) and Ebay basically won't refund my money when
software/books I ordered never arrived or were not as described. They
might have changed their policies now, but at the time, the amount of
money needed to be over $20 for Ebay to even consider looking into it.
Anyway, I've been burnt. I ate the cost, and as a result, I've never
gone back to auction sites.
On a brighter note, Tony Lorenz has put up all his books on print on-demand via
Lulu.com.
This is a reputable printer that takes a percentage of every book
printed, so there is not a high cost of doing an initial print run and
having unsold books sit in your storage.
Since the original PACESETTER #4 is out of print, you can pick up a current print for
$9.95 (marked up to cover Lulu's printing cost), or, and this is new, a hardcover version of PACESETTER #4 for
$20.95.
This would be the perfect gift for any GPz or TT fan in your family.
For collectors that must own everything, please note the covers are
slightly altered from the original print (especially on the Hardcover
Edition).
Lorenz has also made it even more affordable as a digital format, for those who just want to carry it around on their iPad.
