Pacesetter question
« Thread started on: 01/21/05 at 7:42pm »
Hey folks! Has anyone received their prize posters from the contest? Please let me know baringer2k[a]hotmail.com (email).
And also for those interested, I still
have LOTS of uncut covers... yours for the taking. Just pay postage and
the cost of the mailing tube, ($5.50) and extras cost just the extra
weight, which I put at roughly 35 cents each. That ought to easily cover
the postage!
Thanks!

Just a quick mentioning that I got the fanzine in the mail and that I am
really impressed with the new printing. It is printed from a digital
source, so there is only slight data loss, and I have to say that it
looks terrific - especially the color cover.
All the grayscale images (photographs) reproduced in the magazine no
longer looks like a mess (at least from what I remembered).
I have not read everything, but what I
did read, it is great read. The majority of the book looks like they
are interviews or stories written by comic book professionals who worked
with George Perez (like Kurt Busiek, Jerry Ordway, and Tom Smith).
I encourage you to pick up an issue yourself from Tony Lorenz
(email).

Contest
« Thread started on: 12/28/04 at 4:52pm »
Hi everyone and happy Holidays, Marcus
came up with a great idea for a contest, the first 10 people to email me
by January 10 correctly identify all 25 characters on the cover will
win a rolled, uncut press-sheet (oversized poster-sized) with the cover
on it twice. Remember the deadline is January 10 and the first 10 people
that are correct will win. You can see the link to the cover on Vu site or e-mail me at TLorenz101[a]aol.com
(email) to see the cover and to e-mail your answers.
I want to let every one know there are 27
characters on the cover, not 25, I just want to clear up the confusion,
there are now 3 winners.
Also PACESETTER 5 has been shipped from
the printers, I just got two advance copies in the mail today, and I was
floored, I went with a new printer and I'm very happy with the results,
it's not that I was not happy with my old printers, very nice guy and
did the best of what he could do with what he had available. But the new
company is a much bigger outfit and has the technology to put out a far
superior product, everyone that advance ordered will be floored like
me.
9 winners already only one more to go.
Happy New Year!!!!!!

Hi just want to remind everyone that
there is only one week left on advance orders, it needs to be post dated
no later than November 1, you can still order after that but you'll pay
cover price, shipping and no free prints.
Hi everyone, a few people have already
jump the gun on advance ordering PACESETTER issue 5, so I'm going to go a
head and start taking orders for this very special issue. This year
celebrates George's 30 years in comics, and that is the theme of
PACESETTER issue 5.
To make this a very special issue, not
only do we have an all star cast of contributors to the issue (Busiek,
Englehart, Ordway, T. Smith, Brevoort, Tony Isabella and many more.....)
but this issue is a double sized issue, 128 pages issue!!!!
The cover price is $12.95 US, but for advance orders you get it for:
$11.00 postage paid US
$13.00 postage paid Canada
$15.00 postage paid International (paypal only)
And for advance ordering you'll receive not one but two bonus prints
that you can not buy anywhere. This is my way to thank you for advance
ordering and for all the support everyone has PACESETTER. The cut off
date for advance orders is November first. I will take orders after that
but the price will be:
$12.95 + $1.00 for first copy and .50 for each additional copy US
$14.95 + $1.00 for first copy and .50 for each additional copy
$16.95 + $1.00 for first copy and .50 for each additional copy
And you will not receive bonus prints on all orders post dated after November first.
The release date is the end of November/ first of December, and truthfully it looks more like the first of December.
I still need feedback for issue for and I
still need responses for the question of the issue. "Even after 30
years in the business why is George as popular as ever?"

mistake in Previews
« Thread started on: 08/27/04 at 7:09pm »
Hi every I just got the new PREVIEWS
today and there was a big mistake in my listing of my next issue of
PACESETTER #5, the cover price should read $12.95 not $6.95, this issue
will be a double sized issue and I would be losing my shirt if I
published it at $6.95 (Diamond get 60%). I left a message with Diamond
so I really don't know what the procedure is, hopefully I'll get it
worked out.
George is out of town, so as soon as he
gets back, I'll get the balance of PACESETTER #4 autographed, so
everyone that hasn't received their copies yet, I do apologize.

PEREZ FAN AROUND THE WORLD FEATURE
« Thread started on: 07/28/04 at 3:23pm »
Hi everyone, I thought I had one for next
issue of PACESETTER "30 years in comics issue", but I guess I don't, I
need an article from some one living outside the US. There is no length
requirement and it can be anything that relates to George Perez. You can
e-mail me the feature and if there is any certain art that you want in
your article you can e-mail it to me (hi-res scan) or you can mail good
quality copies, I prefer if possible copies of versions from your
country. By contributing you will get the issue free, and this issue
coming up will probably be $18.95 US, so that would be a big saving for
you, it will be a double sized issue, e-mail me
(email) if you have any questions.

Just added Steve Englehart (George's
first writer on the Avengers) and Kurt Busiek ( you all know who he is),
to the list of contributors. It's going to be exciting.

PACESETTER #5: GEORGE'S 30 YEARS IN COMICS
« Thread started on: 05/31/04 at 5:54pm »
Hi gang, happy holidays everyone. Issue #4 is at the printers as we
speak. I now need material for PACESETTER #5, the theme of the issue is
that this year is George 30 years in comics and this is my little part
to help celebrate the event and I need your help. I've got an all star
line-up so far on articles (Tony Isabella, Jim Krueger, Tom Brevoort, Tom Smith and J. A. Fludd
and I'm working on several more involved), I need more, the topics are
endless, you've got 30 years of material to write about.
This issue is going to be a big issue,
minimum of 100 pages. The questions of the issue is "What is your
favorite single comic by George over the last 30 years and why?". I also
need trivia and I really what to make this gallary pretty special, so I
need copies of art from you private collection, everyone who contibute
something receives discounts up to free copy of the issue.
Remember, my magazine is by PEREZ FANS,
FOR PEREZ FANS. So it's only as good and contribution. George by the way
is contributing a brand new cover for the issue and Tom Smith has offered to color it. As much as I'm excited for everyone to see the next issue, the TEEN TITAN THEME ISSUE, thank you Marcus Mebes, this issue has even more potential of being a monster of an issue.
If you have any question on contributing please let me know at TLorenz101(a)aol.com

Wonder Woman issue of PACESETTER delay
« Thread started on: 04/09/04 at 10:28pm »
I've been thinking about it for over a
month now, I'm making it official, the Wonder Woman issue will now be
issue #6 not issue #5, the reason is I really don't want to screw up and
not get the 30th Anniversary issue out on time, being this is a two man
show. I still need material for both issues now, both issue still may
come out this year, but most likely the Wonder Woman issue will be out
in January, I hope that doesn't upset anybody, I just want to put out
the best quality material. I hoping for some really special things for
the 30th Anniversary. I always need contributors, please e-mail me (email)
if you are interested in contributing.
p.s. Issue #4 is basicly done, just making some minor correction, this issue is going to be awesome.

PACESETTER 5 and 6
Thread started on: 02/29/04 at 11:20am
Hi everyone, me again, it's never too
early to get material for the next two issues, I'm pretty well set on
issue four, now it's time to think about the next two issues that will
come out this year #5 (Wonder Woman theme issue) and #6 (30th
Anniversary issue), I have material for both issues but I need a lot
more, remember if you contribute and article you get a free copy of the
issue also you can receive discounts or free copy if you contribute
copies of George's art that you have (original comic pages, con
sketches, commission art, penciled pages, etc...), I'll also need
responce to the question of the issue, trivia and more... if you have
any questions please e-mail me Tony at mailto:TLorenz101@aol.com, remember my magazine is By PEREZ
fans for PEREZ fans, and it's only as good as the contributions. I'm
hoping that the 30th Anniversary issue will be another 100 + page issue.
Thanks everyone.
