I'm glad I picked up this book because it offers insights on all of
WIZARD's first 100 covers, bounded in a sturdy hardcover book.
Here is the info and original cover sketches for WIZARD #76:
CAPTAIN AMERICA
(December 1997)
Penciler: George Pérez
Inker: Jimmy Palmiotti
Colorist: Liquid Graphics
Hard to believe, but this - the 76th issue of Wizard - featured
our first George Pérez illustrated cover. We tapped the legendary
artist to tackle the iconic Captain America besting his longtime nemesis
the Red Skull. Perez other two sketches testify to hsi immense talent -
both presented dynamic possibilites, and we couldn't have gone wrong
running any of them.
To sum up: Perez is the goods.
WIZARD #81 had a variety of different colors for the background, but the book only showed the green cover:
Note that the published cover is purple.
