Did you know that shortly after George Perez's first published (credited) work on ASTONISHING TALES #25 (Aug 1974), he worked on MONSTERS UNLEASHED #7 (Aug 1974) and MONSTERS UNLEASHED #8 (Oct 1974)?

George described working on #8 as “My slaughter field was Monsters Unleashed #8—Gulliver of Mars. I was raked through the coals for that.”

It was a rush assignment with some help from Rich Buckler and inker Duffy Vohland had some help from various artists, including John Byrne and Bob Layton (both uncredited). According to Roger Stern, there were a lot of artists that came to New York for Seuling Con 1974 and they all pitched in to help Vohland: "Anyone who had any drawing ability wound up inking backgrounds on a George Perez story for Monsters Unleashed."
