MegaCon
It was with heavy heart but great admiration to be present for the George Pérez memorial service hosted at MegaCon Orlando inside the sprawling Orange County Convention Center. …
Though it only may be the unofficial start of Summer, it is definitely the official start of comic convention season and we packed up our Avengers Quinjetto flydown to Orlando, FL for the Southeast’s largest show, MegaCon Orlando 2022.
Comic book shows have been held in Central Florida since the 70s, and this particular show began in 1993, with former publisher CrossGenpurchasing it in 1999, and its current UK owner, Informa, taking charge in 2015 under its Fan Expo banner. Fan Expo more recently also assumed ...

LOS ANGELES COMIC BOOK & SCIENCE FICTION CONVENTION (07-08 Jan 2017)
Los Angeles, California
Puerto Rican descendant George Pérez has joined Mexican comic book creator Humberto Ramos to not attend comic book
shows in states that voted to elect Donald
Trump as President.
huffingtonpost.com
has compiled nine very offensive and racist things that Donald Trump
said about Latinos, including calling them rapists and killers. While
Anti-Trump protests spread across nation... the Pro-Trump supporters Ku
Klux Klan will be holding a victory parade.
Ramos
writes, "So I want to communicate that at least the next 4 years I
decide NOT to attend to any conventions that take place in the red
states, those states who voted for Mr. Trump, those states where I am
clearly not welcome."
Comic book writer, Gail Simone asks fans who supports Trump in a public
post on Facebook: "Seriously, holy sh**, how do you grow up loving
Superman and thinking bullying is okay? How do you read X-Men your whole
life and think hating your neighbors because they are different is just
fine? How do you see every Star Trek episode and be riddled with
xenophobia?"
George Perez will honor all of his 2017 Comic Book Convention Schedule, but in 2018, these states will be affected:
- Alabama
- Alaska
- Arizona
- Arkansas
- Florida
|
- Georgia
