CBR TV: George Perez on Going BOOM!, His Passion For Comics
Posted: 09/03/13, 12:58 PM by Jonah Weiland, Executive Producer/Publisher
Legendary creator George Perez
made his way to the world famous floating CBR Tiki Room at Comic-Con
International 2013 to discuss a wide range of topics from his artistic
history and career trajectory to what it feels like to see his creations
realized in another medium. Perez spoke with CBR executive producer
Jonah Weiland about why he thinks he's been able to keep his career
going and success flu for nearly 40 years, why enthusiasm can be a
creators best friend, his love of cosplayers, his work's reception as
being "photo-real," what he's looking for from his signing of an
exclusive contract with BOOM! Studios and how it feels to see the Teen Titans, which he co-created with Marv Wolfman, given new life in animation.

San Diego Comic Con 2013!
Posted by Dipz - July 29, 2013
It’s been over a solid week of rest for many people who attended the
world’s undeniably biggest comic and pop culture convention. For many
travelers, it was a long time coming but the planning, strategic effort,
and patience was well worth it. The memories linger strong in your mind
as a tasty beverage residue on the tip of your tongue. As for us, we’re
blessed to be able to report back to you the chronicles of what
happened this year.
Being held at the same location for eleven (11) consecutive years, with
the organization itself wielding a historic heritage of over forty (40)
years, it’s a safe bet Comic Con in San Diego is not going anywhere
anytime soon!
Please note that this entry and those similar on our site are best
enjoyed if you read the wording detail with the photos to absorb the
sensational experience.
The beast goes by many names. Popular hashtags refer to it as #SDCC. San
Diego Comic Con. San Diego Comic-Con International. Or just simply
‘Comic Con’, implying it is the one and only.

George Jeanty inspired by John Byrne, Alan Davis, George Perez, Michael Golden and Marv Wolfman

George Jeanty at San Diego Comic-Con 2013
July 23, 2013 By: Amy Galante
“Man, this story makes me sound better than it should,” replied ‘Buffy
the Vampire Slayer’ comic book artist Georges Jeanty when asked how he
landed his current gig. “When Joss Whedon approached Dark Horse about
continuing this whole ‘Buffy’ universe, Scott Allie, the editor, asked,
‘What have you got in mind? What do you want to do?’ Joss said, ‘This is
what I want to do and this is the artist I really like, let’s see if we
can’t get him.’ The rest, as they say, is history. Who could say no to a
command performance?”
How did Jeanty get involved with comics? “The art was always there. As a
kid, ‘Star Wars’ came out and changed my life forever. I don’t say that
I chose to draw, I say that it chose me.”
Some of the artists who had the greatest impact on him include John
Byrne at Marvel, Alan Davis, George Perez, Michael Golden and Marv
Wolfman, who he cited as “pillars of their particular field,” adding, “I
wouldn’t say they influenced me. They changed my life. I know it sounds
so young adult to hear, but they really did. I never looked at comics
the same way for one, and I finally saw it as more than just a kiddie
book. I put comics against any art form of written entertainment that
would affect you.
