Really interesting looking at this issue. The potential George had is there, albeit somewhat buried under Colleta's inks -- but what's most enlightening is to see just how far George went. Starting out, he was almost instantly a fan favorite, yet he was not content to rest on his laurels (as we have seen with so many artists who came along since). He kept working, kept pushing, and earned himself a place as not only a fan fave, but one of the best in the biz. Sadly, not always the same thing! |
