MCM COMIC CON LONDON 2019 (25-27 Oct 2019)
London, England
Legendary comic creator George Pérez is to make his final UK convention appearance at MCM London this October, giving his many fans in Europe the chance to celebrate one of the industry’s best-loved figures. Formally announcing his retirement earlier this year, Pérez has thrilled readers with his art for over four decades, drawing for a host of landmark Marvel and DC titles.

Inducted into the Eisner Awards Hall of Fame in 2017 and famed for his ambitious, action-packed crowd scenes, George Pérez’s credits read like a Who’s Who of top superheroes. However, the New York-born Pérez is probably best known for his work on The Avengers, The New Teen Titans, Wonder Woman and the industry-changing Crisis on Infinite Earths.

George Pérez shot to prominence at Marvel with an enormously successful run on The Avengers in the ’70s, returning to the franchise in the ’90s to relaunch the comic book with writer Kurt Busiek. Meanwhile, Pérez made his mark at DC with his co-creation alongside Marv Wolfman of The New Teen Titans, which became one of the publisher’s most popular titles. The pair again collaborated on the famous DC Universe reboot Crisis on Infinite Earths, widely regarded as one of the greatest comic book crossovers ever. Another triumph for Pérez at DC was his 1987 reboot of Wonder Woman, which he worked on as plotter, penciler and writer.

Other credits on Pérez’s résumé include Justice League of America, Superman, Fantastic Four, The Brave and the Bold, Batman, Supergirl, Silver Surfer and The Incredible Hulk.
