Japanese animator and animation director Shoichi Masuo (増尾昭一) has died; he was 57.

Macross: Do You Remember Love?, Project A-Ko, GoShogun, Evangelion, Crimson Wolf, Countdown, Submarine 707R, and Demonbane, are among the many titles that he directed, animated, or worked on.
