I'm sorry to report that Scottish comic book artist (and musician) Jim Baikie has died on December 29, 2017, at the age of 77 (as mentioned by @philhester). Baikie was probably best known for his work on Skizz with influential writer Alan Moore.

After leaving the Royal Air Force in 1963, Baikie explored being an artist and bass player for such bands like Jaymes Fenda and the Vulcans and Compass.

His comic book work started with Valentine for Fleetway Comics. As previously mentioned, he worked with Alan More for Skizz, and took over as writer and artist for Skizz II and Skizz III for 2000AD.

In the U.S., he's probably best known for co-creating Electric Warrior with writer Doug Moench.
