The End of the Year 2016
Thursday, 29 December 2016

This is a bonus year-end episode. The Vu and John segments did not fit in with our Deaths of 2016 and Comic Book Movies of 2016.... With that said, we mostly talked about comic books and movie collecting:

  • Black Friday extended to Black Week?
  • Logan movie trailer looks fantastic.
  • New Teen Titans: The Judas Contract direct-to-video film. Based on Marv Wolfman and George Perez’s classic storyline.
  • Deathstroke is the villain in the upcoming The Batman 2017 film.
  • Wizard World returns to Minneapolis on May 5-7, 2017.
  • Ex-Wizard Magazine staff now works at DC Comics’ free magazine Direct Currents.

  • Bonus section:

  • Buy one get one free at Best Buy “Save Station Movies” deals.
  • Tragic death of Steve Dillon, artist for Preacher and Punisher.
  • DeBarge’s cover of ‘Rhythm of the Night’ from the new Ghostbuster comedy film is amazing.
  • Collecting steelbooks (this is a long segment).
  • Collecting slipcovers.
  • Fast and the Furious.

  • Songs of the show are The Lucksmiths’ ‘The Year of Driving Languorously’ and Stephen Colbert and Michael Stipe’s ‘It’s The End Of The Year As We Know It’.

Excerpt music: lhugueny (‘The Force Awakens The Musical’), Shonen Knife (‘Milky Way’), Bat for Lashes (‘The Wizard’), Wally Pleasant (‘Two For One Coupon’), Dusty Springfield (‘Son of a Preacher Man’), DeBarge (‘Rhythm of the Night’), and Donovan (‘Season of the Witch’).

So far, Wizard World Minneapolis has announced two guests on their website: Lou Ferrigno and artist Colleen Doran. We are excited about the upcoming show.
